Research

Why does our mobile phone lower our willpower? Why do we play (and enjoy) unwinnable, frustrating games? Using empirical methods, we examine a wide range of questions in the field of "human-computer interaction".

Courses

The courses in human-computer interaction are aimed primarily at master's students. In addition, we offer preparatory courses during the bachelor of psychology as well as postgraduate further education.

Services

In cooperation with companies, public institutions or other universities and colleges, we regularly carry out practical research projects.

Who we are

The research focus of human-computer interaction consists of a team of scientists and students who are passionate about researching the interactions between people and interactive systems (e.g., websites, smartphone applications, video games, ticket vending machines). As a research focus, we are affiliated to the Department of General Psychology & Methodology of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Basel.
