Who We Are

The HCI research group consists of a highly motivated team of scientists and students, who are passionate about researching the interaction between humans and interactive systems.

The HCI research group is a concentration within the master programme in Psychology (part of the center for Cognitive Psychology and Methodology, headed by Prof. Dr. K. Opwis) at the Department of Psychology of the University of Basel.

What We Do

In addition to a growing range of course offerings, we have numerous research projects and co-operations with private enterprises and public sector institutions taking place. We apply then methods, which ensure the active involvement of end users in software development and evaluation processes (e.g. usability testings, interviews, surveys etc.).
This research focus within psychology is unique in Switzerland. Our team creates an engaging environment, which gives scientists a great freedom of action, so we can fully commit ourselves to the needs of our project partners.
